Frequently asked questions about English for kindergarten children

English for kindergarten children: What’s the best way to start?

In order to provide your child with the best possible support, we attach great importance to personal development and individual growth. Even at kindergarten age, it is particularly valuable to gain new experiences. Learning a language such as English can play an exciting role in this. That is why we offer specially designed English courses for children from the age of two, which are characterized by playful and entertaining learning methods. In addition to the joy of discovery and growth, children also benefit from improved language skills and better preparation for school.

Through creative methods such as short stories and interactive games, your children can learn their first English words and phrases at a young age in our English course for children. As children at this age are particularly good at imitating, it is easy for them to imitate the correct pronunciation and thus build up a basic vocabulary. Our certified teachers have experience in teaching young children and adapt the lessons individually to the respective learning level. This allows the little ones to learn at their own pace and gradually approach more complex language structures.

Early exposure to a new language such as English has been shown to have a positive impact on cognitive development and language comprehension. Children who learn a second language at pre-school age generally have fewer difficulties with language acquisition in elementary school. It is therefore advisable to expose your child to English at an early age in order to prepare them for school in the best possible way and give them relevant skills for the future. With our English course for children in Hanover, we offer the ideal opportunity to introduce your child to the English language in a playful way and prepare them optimally for the challenges of school.

Should kindergarten children start learning English?

Are you wondering whether English for kindergarten children would also be an option for your children? Every child is different and learns at their own pace. Our teachers are not only native speakers, but also trained educators who specialize in tailoring their lessons to your child. Through playful exercises and interactive learning methods, children are motivated and introduced to the English language in a fun way. There are many advantages to kindergarten children learning English:

  • Early language receptivity: Preschool children are particularly capable of learning and are especially receptive to new languages in the early years. Their brains are designed to naturally recognize and process language patterns. At our language school, your child will learn the language more easily at kindergarten age and gain a foundation for fluent language skills later in life.
  • Cognitive and linguistic development: Early language learning promotes cognitive skills. Once your child has learned a new language, it stimulates cognitive skills such as problem solving, memory and attention. It can also promote overall language development as children learn to understand and express concepts and ideas in different linguistic contexts.
  • Cultural understanding and diversity: Early English learning opens up cultural perspectives. By learning English, children can come into contact with other cultures at an early age. They immerse themselves in other cultures. This promotes a better understanding and greater acceptance of cultural diversity and prepares them to move confidently in a globalized world.
  • Linguistic flexibility and adaptability: Early language learners are often linguistically more flexible. Children who learn a second language at an early age often develop greater linguistic flexibility and a better ear for speech sounds. This can make it easier to learn other languages in the future and promote linguistic adaptability.
  • Preparing for school: Early learning can support school success. Early English language skills can be helpful for the transition to school, especially for English lessons at school. Children feel more confident and better prepared if they already have a good basic knowledge of the language.
  • Playful learning is fun: learning English can be easy and entertaining. English learning for kindergarten children is designed to suit the age group through games, songs and interactive activities that are fun and increase motivation to learn. This creates a positive attitude towards the language and promotes a lifelong love of learning.

Learning English at an early age offers numerous advantages for kindergarten children. It not only supports their linguistic and cognitive development, but also, as mentioned, their cultural sensitivity and flexibility. While language skills and school preparation are additional benefits, the main focus is on holistic development and learning through enjoyment and discovery.

English in kindergarten – does it make sense for the children?

The earlier children start learning a new language, the easier it is for them. This also applies to English lessons in kindergarten. By integrating English into children’s everyday lives at an early age, language learning becomes a natural and relaxed activity.

Children who come into contact with a second language at kindergarten age often have fewer inhibitions about practicing and speaking it. They are generally more open to new experiences and can adapt more quickly to new situations. Contact with peers who are also learning English also encourages exchange and motivation among the children. By practising and playing together, they can communicate with each other and master the language together.

An English course for children at the Bambini Learning Center offers advantages not only for your children. While your children are learning English in a playful way, you as an adult have the opportunity to relax or do other tasks. Use the time when your children are learning English to work productively or concentrate on personal projects. From spring 2025, we will be offering an open workspace at our course location so that you can use your time efficiently while your children are in good hands.

English in kindergarten – does it make sense for the children?

Choosing the right English course for your kindergarten child can be a challenge. Consider the following aspects when choosing an English course for children:

  • First of all, the focus of the course should be on the personal, individual development of the child. Every child is unique and learns in their own way. Therefore, it is of great importance that the program can respond to the individual needs and abilities of your child. It is important that the child can learn at their own pace in order to develop self-confidence and enjoy learning.
  • A good course should also emphasize the social aspect. Learning a new language provides an excellent opportunity to develop social skills. Interacting with other children and communicating in a new language can help to promote teamwork, empathy and consideration.
  • The course should also be playful. Especially at a young age, children learn best through play, as they enjoy it and learn new things at the same time. The course should therefore offer a balance between fun and learning. There should be no pressure on the children to perform, instead the focus should be on encouraging a positive attitude to learning and arousing interest in the English language.
  • Finally, teachers should be qualified and experienced in working with children. They should be able to create a safe and supportive environment in which your child feels comfortable and ready to learn new things.

Our English course for kindergarten children in Hanover fulfills exactly these criteria. Secure your child a place at the Bambini Learning Center today and let them grow in an environment that turns learning into an adventure. Join us and watch your child discover English with joy and ease!

When can kindergarten children start learning a foreign language?

The right time to learn a foreign language is in early childhood. Why? Children have an amazing ability to pick up languages easily when they are embedded in an environment where these languages are spoken. That’s why we offer language courses for children from the age of two in our bilingual kindergarten.

As a bilingual facility with nine native speakers and an international community, we attach great importance to immersive bilingual education. Our native speakers are qualified educators who are native speakers of the language. They interact with the children in their native language, giving the children the opportunity to learn and use the language in a natural context.

Interaction with peers from different cultures not only promotes language development, but also intercultural understanding and the children’s social skills. In such an environment, the children learn a foreign language in a playful way by singing songs, listening to stories and having everyday conversations.

It’s not just about learning a foreign language, but also about familiarizing the children with the culture associated with that language. Through this immersive method, the children can absorb the language more easily and strengthen their communication skills.

How should children learn English in kindergarten and preschool?

For kindergarten and preschool children, learning English is best when it’s fun. Instead of strict vocabulary lists with words to memorize, we focus on playful activities that support the natural learning process and arouse children’s curiosity. This is exactly the approach we take in our English for kindergarten children course in Hanover. From the age of two, the little ones can immerse themselves in a world of songs, games, stories and craft activities – all in English, of course! In this way, the children learn the language as if it were their mother tongue, without any pressure.

We make sure that the toddlers are always actively involved. They hear vocabulary and grammar over and over again in perfect pronunciation from our native speakers so that they get a good feel for the language. This is not only more fun, but also helps them to better retain what they have learned. After all, they learn most effectively by listening, speaking and participating. In short, our bilingual lessons provide a great, interactive environment for your children to learn English through play.

Are conventional games also suitable for learning English in kindergarten?

Are you aiming for a bilingual education for your children and wondering whether a conventional game is also suitable for practicing? Games are generally a good option for introducing children to languages quickly and playfully. The following tips can help to get your children interested in languages:

  • Integrate simple language games: Language games such as memory or bingo with English words make learning fun. Use games such as memory, bingo or puzzles that use English words and pictures. These games help children to learn and memorize new vocabulary without feeling like they are being taught.
  • Include role plays and scenarios: Role play and small scenarios encourage speaking in English. Let your children slip into different roles and play scenarios in which they have to communicate in English. This could be a toy store, a visit to the doctor or a restaurant. Such role-plays encourage active language use and expand vocabulary in a natural way.
  • Using music and rhymes: Singing and rhymes in English make learning easy. Sing English songs or rhymes together. Music makes learning language particularly memorable and is a lot of fun for children at the same time. Integrate simple English song lyrics and rhymes into everyday life to strengthen language awareness.
  • Incorporate language challenges into games: Games such as “I see something you don’t see” in English or simple questions and answers promote language comprehension and the active use of English. Such games help children to test and improve their language skills in a fun way.
  • Use everyday objects and situations: Incorporate everyday objects into games to practise English in everyday life. Use everyday objects and situations for language games. For example, you can use English terms for food and goods when playing “store”. This helps children to learn and use English in everyday contexts.

In our English course for children in Hanover, children experience English in a lively and motivating way. The big advantage: with us, children don’t learn alone, but in small groups, similar to classes at school. Through group games and interactive activities, they can communicate directly in English, actively exchange ideas and imitate each other. Our group activities are designed so that the children work together, solve team tasks and tell stories – all in English and age-appropriate. This approach not only promotes their language practice, but also their social interaction and teamwork skills. Learning becomes an exciting adventure where each child can develop their English skills through play.
